Lesson Overview

This lesson was designed for a 2nd grade class in Kern County with 3 expanding English learner students. In this lesson, students learn about the concept of fairness and kindness. Following an informational read-aloud about Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., students answer comprehension questions about the text and participate in a "Dream Cloud" activity where they think of a dream they have and contribute by creating a vibrant mural that visually represents their dreams for a better world.
