Unit 1-Lesson 3: Multiple Intelligences

Lesson Overview

Students will gain an understanding of Howard Gardner's Theory of Multiple Intelligences and discover their dominant Intelligence by taking part in a survey, analysis of their strengths, and then in groups present their findings.  

This lesson consists of 4 activities and 1 assessment and take place within 2 periods, but can be split into more periods if needed. The lessons are aligned to: Health Education & ELD standards to support English learners at the bridging level in the Los Angeles County.

Student Learning Goals/Objectives

  • Content: Students will become more self-aware of the different types of strengths and develop and understand their learning preferences.
  • Language: Students will evaluate various text and multimedia, exchange information and ideas, negotiate with others through oral collaboration and use this information to create a slide presentation.
