The PAST Test

The Phonological Awareness Screening Test (PAST), authored by Dr. David Kilpatrick a psychology professor at SUNY Cortland and author of Equipped for Reading Success, is designed to assess students’ ability to manipulate syllables and phonemes in spoken words.The PAST is best used with students as part of a whole class screening in K-2 or a formal reading assessment.
