Episode 1: Carissa Duran- Coordinator from Escondido, California
Guest: Carissa Duran is an A-G Coordinator from the Escondido Union High School District. Carissa brought a large cohort of teachers to participate in our Lesson Design Institute in San Diego, California. Carissa believes that as long as we're serving diverse students with diverse needs— which we are— we need to leverage our most innovative practices to bridge the opportunity gap and give all students an onramp to success. Look for Carissa's lessons and group this fall at California Educators Together.
Host: Dr. Edward Gonzalez is Director of California's Open Educational Resources at the Kern County Superintendent of Schools. In 2022, KCSOS was awarded the High Quality Online Instructional Materials contract with the California Department of Education. In this capacity, KCSOS is leading statewide Lesson Design Institutes with the goal of putting free resources in the hands of California educators.
California Educators Together is an initiative from the California Department of Education that is fostering a community of practice designed to provide educators, administrators, and specialists a common space to communicate, share strategies, and access resources. Our team is leading Lesson Design Institutes virtually and across the state of California where we are paying teachers to develop lessons. On this podcast you will listen to diverse hosts and guests from across the state as they join our platform and create lessons and resources for ALL California Educators.
