This activity invites students to answer the question what is a scientist? They will sketch a scientist based on their own ideas and then participate in a class discussion. Students will view a collection of portraits of scientists using strategies from Project Zero. At the end of the activity, students will create a cartoon of a scientist that incorporates clues to help the observer understand what type of scientist they are trying to describe.
