Nine Lives of Cat Ladies was inspired by the mug of Morris the Cat. This mug is a part of the National Museum of American History and carries the mascot of the cat food brand 9Lives. Morris is featured as the main item of this collection, which shows moments in the lives of nine different women pictured with their feline friend. In some, the ladies are nameless as are their cats, which show that even with the loss of information, the bond between woman and cat remains strong. Following a chronological format, beginning with the most recent image from 2001 to the earliest from the 1940s. Cuddling, petting and doting on these furry creatures is a universal experience that spans time and cultures. Nine Lives highlights the journeys that we take with our companions. They are more than pets, they become friends and family. We share our highs and our lows with our four-legged friends, now we celebrate their importance in our lives with this collection.
