Northwest Ordinance
This collection illustrates a timeline of events leading to and following the creation of the Northwest Ordinance of 1787. Following the American Revolutionary War, the British acclaimed independent America established regulation of the newly controlled territory north and west of the Ohio River that would later lead to the mandate of acquiring statehood in other U.S. territory. Throughout the collection we will analyze the impact and influence of the document. Specifically the beginning of westward expansion and limitation of slavery expansion will outline the significance of the document.
